Ty started the Foundation in 2011 with the original cause of supporting Youth Cancer Survivors in their pursuit of higher education. Today, Survivor Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to graduating South Dakota high school Seniors that have been diagnosed with any type of cancer, at any point, and are attending any post-secondary education of their choosing. The Foundation is the only source of funds directly available to Survivors that we are aware of in the state of South Dakota.
